U.S – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has authorized further virucide claims for Neogen Viroxide Super disinfection.
According to these label claims, Neogen Viroxide Super kills viruses that cause African Swine Fever, Porcine Respiratory and Reproductive Sickness (PRRS), Bovine Viral Diarrhea, and Avian Influenza A on hard, non-porous surfaces.
Further, kill claims for viruses that could cause African Swine Fever and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea on non-porous surfaces in Canada have also been approved by Health Canada.
When employed as part of an extensive biosecurity program, the peroxygen-based powder disinfectant Neogen Viroxide Super provides quick, broad-spectrum disinfection.
Animal housing and equipment, boot baths, automobiles, and other hard, non-porous surfaces can all be cleaned with Neogen Viroxide Super.
“These additional virucidal claims further solidify the trustworthiness and reliability of the Neogen Viroxide Super disinfectant within production animal marketplaces, especially as we are seeing ongoing Avian Influenza outbreaks.
“Those working in production animal facilities, as well as in companion animal spaces, horticulture, and aquaculture environments, can be confident they can prevent the spread of disease and keep the people and animals they care for safe and healthy,” said John Adent, Neogen’s President and CEO.
The new kill claims accepted and approved by the United States EPA cover Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, African Swine Fever Virus, Avian Influenza A, Avian Infectious Laryngotracheitis Virus, Avian Infectious Bursal Disease Virus, Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus, Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus, Newcastle Disease Virus, Porcine Respiratory & Reproductive Syndrome (PRRS), and Pseudorabies Virus.
Meanwhile, the new kill claims accepted and approved in Canada by Health Canada cover African Swine Fever and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv).
The active ingredients of Neogen Viroxide Super include potassium peroxymonosulfate and sodium chloride, which have been shown to be efficient against a variety of industry-relevant bacteria and viruses, including Staphylococcus aureus and canine parvovirus.
The product works well in hard water, and preparing it is made easier by a color change from red to green when it’s ready to use.
Neogen also provides a full line of cleaners and disinfectants for a number of biosecurity applications in addition to Neogen Viroxide Super.
Sanitizers, clothing, cleansers, and disinfectants are some of Neogen’s biosecurity products. Although many of these are effective in preventing the transmission of illness wherever it exists, many were initially created for use in Neogen’s agricultural markets.
