U.S – GLOBALG.A.P. North America (GGNA), a subsidiary of FoodPLUS GmbH,  has appointed Roberta Anderson as its new President.

With a strong background in agriculture and years of experience within the organization, Anderson is well-equipped to lead GGNA in expanding GLOBALG.A.P. certification solutions for farmers in North America.

GLOBALG.A.P., developed by FoodPLUS GmbH in Cologne, Germany, is a brand of smart farm assurance solutions.

These solutions encompass various standards promoting safe, socially responsible, and environmentally friendly farming practices.

The widely used Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard, applicable to fruit and vegetables, aquaculture, and floriculture, among others, forms the foundation of the GGN label—a consumer label for certified, responsible farming and transparency.

With over 200,000 producers certified in 134 countries, GLOBALG.A.P. continues to spread responsible farming practices worldwide.

The subsidiary company, GLOBALG.A.P. North America, Inc., serves the specific needs of the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Anderson’s appointment follows the departure of Kristian Moeller, who will now focus on facilitating a new industry collaboration.

Together with the GGNA team, she will continue the important work initiated by Moeller, advancing responsible agriculture practices in the U.S. and Canada.

Rooted in agriculture, Roberta Anderson hails from multiple generations of farmers in Illinois. With Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in International Agriculture and Business Administration, she has dedicated two decades of her career to advancing responsible agriculture.

As the Executive Vice President of GGNA since 2017, Anderson is poised to lead the organization’s efforts in promoting cost-effective and streamlined GLOBALG.A.P. certification solutions.

These solutions address food safety, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility, meeting the assurance needs of farmers across North America.

Anderson expresses her honor in leading GGNA during a transformative period for farming and the food system.

Recognizing the crucial role of farmers in providing safe food while protecting the environment and workers, she emphasizes the comprehensive and trusted nature of GLOBALG.A.P.’s certification solutions.

Anderson looks forward to releasing new tools and resources in the coming months to support farmers in adapting to evolving market requirements.

She acknowledges the support of GGNA’s dedicated team and expanding community of industry collaborators in working towards GLOBALG.A.P.’s vision of sustainable farming practices that ensure sufficient safe food production, environmental conservation, and the welfare of farming communities.
