U.S – Microban International, the world’s leading innovator in antimicrobial, odor control, and surface modification technologies, has expanded its portfolio of antimicrobial technologies with the introduction of MicroGuard, a series of antifungal additives for PVC, PU, and EVA applications including foam. 

This ground-breaking solution is a part of Microban’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology with less harmful toxicity profiles to the market than currently offered agents.

MicroGuard was developed as a non-leaching antifungal agent in order to provide an alternative to the arsenic-based OBPA, a common antifungal additive that is raising regulatory concerns due to its capacity to contaminate water sources and harm aquatic life. Its active ingredients are free of metals.

The technology offers strong antifungal efficiency and continuous built-in protection, preventing microbial dilapidation to increase the useful product shelf life.

MicroGuard has been created for usage in a wide variety of applications and may be effortlessly integrated into PVC, PU, and EVA goods at the point of manufacture. The technology can be incorporated into outdoor PVC products.

It is registered with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and notified with the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).

Dr. Souvik joined Microban at the start of February bringing with him a unique chemical engineering perspective and a wealth of industry experience.

Prior to joining Microban, Souvik worked in product development, process development, and commercial operations on a global scale.
