SWITZERLAND – Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection, a global leader in precision instruments and product inspection technology, has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship by achieving carbon-neutral status for the fifth consecutive year.
The company continues to make strides toward its sustainability goals, including a go-getting target of sending zero waste to landfill by 2025.
In 2023, Mettler-Toledo accelerated its efforts to enhance its sustainability practices, with notable progress in several key areas.
The company has expanded its adoption of electric vehicles, increased its reliance on solar power, and bolstered district heating capacities. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to meet the company’s science-based targets for emissions reduction by 2030, reflecting a deep commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
A momentous achievement this year includes re-attaining the target of sourcing 100% renewable electricity across its global operations. This milestone underlines Mettler-Toledo’s dedication to sustainability and aligns with its long-term objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering a more sustainable business model.
Beyond its operational achievements, Mettler-Toledo has also intensified its focus on sustainable product design and supply chain transparency.
The company’s direct supplier engagement program, which began in 2022, has been further advanced to align with its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. This program leverages risk assessments to target suppliers where the company can exert the most influence, ensuring that sustainability objectives are met across the entire supply chain.
