U.S – Cybersecurity consulting firm AnzenSage has fully launched to offer resilience solutions to the food industry.

The company strives to support leaders in the food sector by managing the complex issues they confront in their operations, reputation, and consumers by fighting to protect the food ecosystem.

“Cybersecurity is a critical component of food safety and defense, as it helps to protect the integrity of our food supply chain and ensure that consumers can trust the food they buy and eat.

“Without proper cybersecurity measures in place, the food industry is vulnerable to cyberattacks that can compromise sensitive information, disrupt operations, and even put public health at risk,” says Kristin Demoranville, CEO and founder of AnzenSage.

Demoranville is an expert who is well-suited to take on the particular issues faced by the food industry. She has more than 20 years of expertise in the information security and technology sector, particularly in food manufacturing, production, supply chain, and risk and compliance activities.

“Food technology innovation is rising fast, with plant-based meat, 3D printing, AI advancements in food processing, and a wealth of IoT devices to assist with monitoring.

“It’s a lot to consider, whether you’re an industry expert or even just a consumer. How, with all this new technology, do you keep production running, employees safe, and customers healthy? Cybersecurity can help,” says Demoranville.

AnzenSage is committed to creating a more secure and resilient food business and provides two main services: Security Resilience Advisory and Security Resilience Assessments.

“I believe cybersecurity is one of the most critical components of protecting our food supply and ensuring the safety of the products we consume.

“Not only does it safeguard against potential breaches and threats, but it also allows us to innovate and improve our operations in the food industry continuously. It’s not just about protecting data; it’s about protecting the well-being of people,” says Demoranville.

It is impossible to overstate the threat that cyber security risks pose in the modern world. Numerous industries are already being negatively impacted by attacks and data leaks, which have disrupted operations and output.

Food and beverage companies are seen as prime targets, a notable case being that of the world’s largest meat producer JBS which underwent a cyberattack in 2021.

The Brazilian-based company had to part with a sum of U.S$11 million in ransom, to put an end to the attack which had disabled its beef and pork slaughterhouses.

“Cybersecurity is a critical component of food safety and defense, as it helps to protect the integrity of our food supply chain and ensure that consumers can trust the food they buy and eat.”
